Give your AAC Device a Distinct Voice

Communication is a very personal interaction – being able to express your thoughts and feelings in the words you want can be both empowering and liberating.  Therefore, programming an AAC device with the words that the user would want to say is important to help them feel heard.

When programming an AAC device, consider the following:

  • Choose a voice that fits with the user – gender and age, accent and language
  • What are topics that the user would want to talk about?
    1. Consider their daily activities, interests, and the people in their lives
    2. What are messages that they need to say

ATIA Conference

In less than two weeks the Mozzaz team will find ourselves in Orlando, Florida – not soaking up the sunshine, but sharing TalkingTILES and the Mozzaz difference at the ATIA 2013 conference.

ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) holds an annual conference in Orlando to connect people who have disabilities and those who support, work with, and educate individuals with disabilities.  The conference is an opportunity to share and network with others, and learn about the latest trends in assistive technology.

This is the first ATIA conference that Mozzaz will be at.  We have great success (and fun!) at the OSLA and ASHA conferences last year that we are sure this one will just as great.

Talking Tuesdays: Hands on Help

Do you have a question you’d like answered?  Here at Mozzaz we do our best to make sure that our customers and subscribers are able to use their apps to the best of their ability.  While there are video tutorials and a user guide available, we know that sometimes talking to someone directly is the best way to answer a question.

That is why we are introducing Talking Tuesdays - a weekly open forum Q&A session that is available for both caregivers and professionals who want to know more about TalkingTILES.  Whether you are just curious about the app, have a couple questions, or are struggling to figure it out, we can help.  Our TalkingTILES specialist is available from 2pm-3pm EST every Tuesday to handle all of your questions.
